Nomination

http://loreliz4reading.blogspot.com/2012/01/excuse-me-mrdubois.html?showComment=1326846341543#c4510150568745756503 This post was done by Lauren and the reason I picked it was because she not only did she have detailed thoughts about her book but also she mentioned some things about her that were interesting. She even tells us why she is reading the book because when we are reading books we don't say the reason for us reading the book we just say what we think of it. I think when we are reading something that people don't expect us to read, we put a reason for why we are reading a book. For some reason people don't think we are advanced enough to be reading that sort of material. I think a lot more African American girls she be reading this kind of material and researching the people she is researching.

Eragon: Beginnings

I just started reading Eragon and I can't say much about it but so far so good. The thing is even though I just started I am already started comparing it to the movie. When my brother was saying that in the movie they got all wrong , he wasn't joking. They totally got it wrong in the movie. Like I said though I haven't gotten that far in the book. I have noticed some things about Eragon's family and life situation too.
Some of the things that the movie messed up was picking the right actors for some of the parts. Sloan who owns the meat shop was described as a short, small man. In the movie the guy was tall and fat. Eragon's family seems to really be poor based on what he ate for dinner and breakfast. He ate bread and cheese for dinner and porridge for dinner. He can't afford his own meat from the meat shop so he has to go hunt for it. He also said that if they didn't get meat for the winter they would starve.
Usually when I hear about getting something before something these days, It usually is you have to get food before a big storm comes. In the book They have to get meat before winter. When I hear that, I usually hear it from farmers so I am guessing that they are farmers. Eragon didn't catch  any meat so I think he would do anything so that his family doesn't starve to death. I wonder what he will do?

Superheros and their Relationships:Comparison

I am reading the graphic novel Spider-man Volume Three and what I notice is that Peter Parker being Spider Man and all has a lot of relationship problems with his wife Mary Jane. They never have time for each other. They live in 2 different parts of the Country. What makes matters worse is that one of them is a Superhero. This leads to one of them feeling rejected. Obviously that is not good for the relationship. The only reason Peter has this problem I think is because he has to hide his identity so he has to pretend that he doesn't know Mary Jane  personally.

The thing is people like Superman don't face this problem because he lives most of his life as Superman. When he walking around in his house and someone sees him the person would say hey there is Superman not there is Clark Kent. Superman's relationship with Lois Lane seems to be going better than Spider-man's. I actually don't understand why Spider-man is having a harder time than Superman because they both have to deal with secret identity problems.

The only guy I could think of who doesn't have that relationship problem is Iron Man because the people know who he is. People know who he is so he can have a "relationship" with anyone he wants because number one he is rich and number two he doesn't have to deal with identity problems. Unlike Iron Man, Spider Man wants to be serious with his relationships. That is the difference between the 2. That is how I feel about superhero relationships.

Harry Potter the Prisoner of Azkaban and perspective

When I say perspective I mean in the way people viewed Sirius Black. Sirius Black was a wizard  who was framed for  murdering Harry Potter's parents by Peter Pettigrew. Because he was framed and he was put in Azkaban. Azkaban is basically a prison. Now everyone thinks that Sirius Black is the bad guy and that he killed Harry's Parents but he didn't, and the only person who knows that he innocent  is Professor Lupin. The problem is that Harry doesn't know. He doesn't even find out that Sirius Black is innocent until the end of the book. I guess it isn't the peoples' fault, I mean Pettigrew probably did a pretty good job at framing Sirius Black.

I think Harry's past involving his parents always comeback to haunt him or just the past in the general. I say that based on my experience with the 3 books I have read. I always wonder how he deals with all this stuff at such a young age. What drives him. I think the only reason he is able to do all this advance magic and amazing skills is because it was pasted down from his father and he gained all the interest his dad had based what I have learned. I think what drives him is to protect his friends, himself, and the place he loves which is Hogwarts. I remember in the Chamber of Secrets book when the teachers at Hogwarts said that they would close the school, I sort of knew that Harry would do anything to prevent that from happening and that is exactly what happened.

Since I finished Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban it changed my views on how Harry feels about living with the Dursleys. To Harry sometimes I would think that he thinks that the Dursleys are worse than Professor Severus Snape. That is saying something. I am talking about this because Sirius mentioned to Harry that since he is Harry's Godfather that Harry could come live with him. The thing that surprised the was that Harry didn't even think about. He basically said that anything is better than the Dursleys.

Harry Potter And Relationships

I would like to talk about the relationship between Harry, Ron, and Hermione. I want to talk about obviously how important their relationship is to the story but also I want to go deeper then that. I find it very interesting that each of them influence the other in many different ways. Some of them good some of them bad. I think that Harry and Ron had the biggest influence on Hermione behavior wise. For example in the beginning of Sorcerer of Stone Hermione is very uptight and follows the rules. Basically she doesn't break any rules unlike Harry. Harry would always sneak out while everyone was awake and eventually he would drag Ron with him.
Hermione's change over time is very unusual especially if you saw how she was and how she ends up. Like and said in the previous paragraph is how she starts and now I am talking about how she is based on the end of Chamber of Secrets. I think that her curious side was awakened and Harry did the waking up. What I see is once Hermione knows about something but not all about she will want to find out either by going to the library or going to the real thing.
I actually see a chain. She goes to the library then investigates. I basically see Harry Potter as a mystery action/adventure because I think that in the 2 books they discover a secret about Hogwarts and then there is a battle. That is what I think.

Throne of fire Thoughts 3

I just finished Throne of Fire and I would like to say that I enjoyed it. The reason I enjoyed it because combined comedy, action, and adventure into one. I liked how the ending was a cliffhanger so that they have to make another book. What was interesting to me was Sadie love life believe or not. The reason I say this is because she is never sure who she likes or wants to start a relationship with. She is always conflicted.

What she is conflicted about is whether to form a relationship with Walt or Anubis the god. I know it seems like a easy choice but she has feelings for both. Anubis is a boy that she is very attracted to but he doesn't think that there will be anything between them. Walt is a whole different story because he likes Sadie a lot a Sadie really likes him but the only problem with Walt is that he is cursed and the more he does magic the closer he is to death. That interesting thing is that Walt wanted Anubis to help him with his curse.

I personally would say that Walt is the better choice for her. The reason I say this is because Walt is more relatable to her because number 1 he is human and number 2 he feels the say way about Sadie as Sadie  feels about him. Anubis knows that there can't be anything between them because it is not his place to have a relationship with Sadie. That is why I think that Walt is the better choice.
